Library

The library media center is designed to meet the challenges that today’s students and staff face as they become effective users of ideas and information. The program is structured to integrate information literacy skills within the curriculum areas rather than teach them in isolation. Therefore, classes are scheduled in the library media center during scheduled academic subject area classes. Students are able to use the library during their academic development periods as well as before and after school.

The library has a fully automated library catalog and circulation system. Materials selected for the collection will meet the wide range of teaching and learning styles, interests, and abilities. One will find books, videos, DVD’s, audio tapes and CD’s, electronic databases and internet sites when one searches the automate library catalog.

The library media specialist works collaboratively with teachers and students to locate information found in our media center collection as well as from other area school libraries. Materials from other schools are borrowed through interlibrary loan.
