Library
The library media center program is designed to meet the challenges
that today's students and staff face as they become effective users
of ideas and information. The program is structured to integrate
information literacy skills within the curriculum areas rather than
teach them in isolation. Therefore, classes are scheduled in the
library during their scheduled academic subjects. Students are also
able to access the library during their study hall and academic
development periods as well as for 45 minutes after school.
The library media specialist works collaboratively with teachers
and students to locate, access, and evaluate information found in
the media center collection as well as to network with other area
libraries to provide the information needed for the teachers' and
students' success.
Materials are selected for the collection that will meet the wide
range of teaching and learning styles, interests, and abilities.
Thus one will find books, videos, DVD's, audio tapes, electronic
databases, and internet websites when one searches the automated
card catalog.
