Athletics - Philosophy
At Nazareth Hall Middle School, physical education is primary to
the general education program and crucial to the development of
the whole child. It is a unique program that features dance as a
major component of the overall curriculum. Students are exposed
to a wide variety of sports, skills and activities that teach team
building, develop self-confidence, instruct in wellness, and promote
self-discipline. The program is sequential in nature, which facilitates
successful learning experiences and provides a forum for the development
of athletic abilities. In addition, inter-scholastic sport participation
is also available to students in seventh and eighth grades. Each
semester, certain skills and knowledge is targeted, which gives
students an opportunity to develop higher-level skills and rule
knowledge of the particular combination of sports that are played.
