Catholic Schools Week (January 28- February 1)
The first graders are learning about Sr. Thea Bowman. She is on the path to Sainthood. We will be doing many activities to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.

    Morning Prayer
The first graders will be doing pledge and morning prayer beginning Friday, February 1, through Thursday, February 28.

    Take-Home Folders
Starting Wednesday, September 5, your child will bring home their Take-Home Folders daily. This will contain notes and homework. Please check this folder nightly and empty the contents. These folders need to be returned to school each day.

The children will begin receiving homework Monday, September 10.

    Homework Policy
Homework is given Monday through Thursday. Approximately 20 minutes per day will be assigned. The homework is to be done at home. This will be in the form of either written work, study (math facts, reading words, etc.), or reading. Also, projects may be given that would involve work over a weekend. This work is important reinforcement of skills learned in school. If homework is not turned in regularly, it will affect the child's grade in that subject.

It is important that they work carefully and independently as much as possible.
