Nurse's Office

  • At Nazareth Elementary we know that healthy kids are more successful in school. We are blessed to have two school nurses who work to support the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of Nazareth students:

    Kathy Knope
    Ms. Kathleen Knope, LPN
    Monday, Tuesday
    8 a.m.–3 p.m.
    kknope@nazarethschools.org

    Sister Marlene
    Sister Marlene Pape, SSJ, RN
    Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
    8 a.m.–3 p.m.
    mpape@nazarethschools.org

Sr. Marlene and Ms. Knope provide direct health care for students. They serve as the liaison between school personnel, family, community, and health care providers. Sister and Ms. Knope work in cooperation with the Nurse Managers from Monroe One BOCES. BOCES provides nursing services to the Rochester City School District.  This cooperation allows our nurses to maintain compliance with the New York State Health Department’s policies and procedures.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the school office by 9 am. If we do not hear from you, one of our nurses will call you later in the morning to ask about the absence. She will want to know if your child is sick, and, if so, whether or not he/she has a contagious illness that might affect his/her return to school. This is a health and safety precaution. Please be sure to answer the call, or return the call if necessary.

Please feel free to call the Nurses' office directly as needed:
