God gives us the gift of imagination, creativity and the joy of reading.
Welcome back to the Library Media Center. I am excited about the new school year and introducing new books and Makerspace activities to your children. Because of money raised at our Barnes and Noble Book Fair and our New/Used Book fair plus donations, we have acquired over 100 new books for our library. Teachers were given an opportunity before the start of school to peruse all the new books at the second annual "Book Tasting" event.
In addition to new books and through generous donations, the library has added new Makerspace activities including Lego Racecars, Gearbots, Keva Planks, weaving looms, Contraptions, board games and Spirograph. Students will have an opportunity throughout the year to experience a variety of Makerspaces activities.
By popular demand, the I Spy challenge is back. A small aquarium has been set up in the library containing a number of items that students are to find. Any student who finds all the items will receive a small prize.
Throughout the year in the library, I will be working closely with the classroom teachers on cross-curriculum projects.
I am looking forward to working with your children this year. My goal is to instill the love of reading to all of the students,
