Welcome back to the Library Media Center!!!
Over the summer, the Nazareth Library went through a reorganization of materials to make it more accessible and student-friendly. We have received through private donations, Title IV funds, Gumdrop Books and Barnes and Noble gift cards, over 350 new books from picture books, chapter books, novels, and nonfiction books. Before the start of school, teachers were given an opportunity to peruse all the new books at a "Book Tasting" event.
In addition to new books, Makerspaces have been created, which include: Creative Construction ( Legos, magni-tiles, pattern blocks, gears etc.), Collaborative Game Play (board games), writing center, creative bookmark center, puzzle center, and reader's theater. Students will have an opportunity throughout the year to experience these activities.
Students are able to participate in a monthly I Spy challenge. A small aquarium has been set up in the library containing a number of items that students are to find. Any student who finds all the items will receive a small prize.
I am looking forward to introducing new books and the makerspace activities to your children. My goal is to instill the love of reading to all of the students.
