History of Nazareth

  • The Light Continues to Shine...

In the early light of an August morning, it is said, Mother Stanislaus Leary awoke, said a prayer, and struck a match to light the lamp in her room. That brief brilliant flash of light foreshadowed the events of that summer day and the next 120 years, as the Nazareth spirit began illuminating the lives of all that it touched.

While time has moved Nazareth into an era of advanced education, it continues to represent the ideals of its founders — providing a fine academic institution for students, without making distinctions for race, ethnic background, or social class.
